An original Aqua One Media retaining grid to suit the Advance 1050 and Advance 1250 external filters. Placed at the top of the filter between the first filter basket and the motor unit, the grid helps keep filter media from drifting into the impeller unit and reducing the filter flow
The Media retaining grid has a very important function in the Advance 1050 and Advance 1250 external filters. It acts to compress the filter media so that water cannot easily bypass it and a great percentage of waste is removed with each pass through the filter. In addition the grid prevents small pieces of biomedia etc being sucked up into the filter and damaging or blocking the fragile impeller unit.
