The longest aquarium that Aqua One have ever brought to the UK the Aquience 1800 featured two 1250 Advance external canister filters. Clean these in rotation for best results, replacing the activated carbon and polymer wool every month and the foam sheets every few months (but rinse these at every clean out in some aquarium water)
