Aqua One Non Return Valve
A reliable Non return air valve from Aqua One. Just cut the flexible air pipe at any suitable point and insert the valve
It’s always the little things that make the big difference. We strongly recommend aerating your aquarium as raising the oxygen saturation is good for both your fish and your filtration bacteria.
Aquarium Airline doesn’t come in different sizes: one size fits all so be sure that our air line or air pipe as its sometimes known will fit your air pump. Just be sure not to leave yourself short. Our rule of thumb is to work out how much you think you need and then add another metre to make sure. Better safe than sorry here, there are few things more frustrating than not having enough air pipe!
It’s also really important to remember that every aeration set up needs none return valves to protect the air pump from back syphoned water and most will also require some simple valves to enable easy adjustment of the air flow. So many times we’ve seen these low cost essentials ignored which results in severe consequences.
No manufacturer will honour the warranty on an air pump which has got wet or has become internally water logged. None return valves prevent back syphoning, 100% protecting your pump. Don’t forget that none return valves should be changed every year as they become blocked over time.
It’s so difficult to judge just how much air flow is required for your set up and how many bubbles will look great through a specific air stone, everyone’s opinion of ‘just right’ varies of course . The easiest solution is to invest in a small air line valve or two making it the work of seconds to regulate the air flow until it suits. Fitting couldn’t be easier: just cut the air line at a convenient point and connect the air line valve to both ends. Well worth ordering with your air pump for very little extra cost.
