Compatibility

The Aqua One 69c Carbon and Polymer Wool Cartridge fits the Aqua One Aqua Start 340 Pro. The cartridges are used in pairs as the second stage in the overhead filter fitted to the 340 pro.

Design Criteria

The Aqua One 69c was designed for use in Aqua One’s patented multimedia over tank filtration systems where its function is to remove fine solid waste and adsorb ammonia, acids and other dissolved waste products. The cartridges have a limited life and should be regarded as disposable.

Pack size

The 69c Carbon and Polymer Wool cartridge is supplied by Aqua One in Packs of two. We also have high value multi packs such as twin (four cartridges) and triple packs (six cartridges). Larger quantities are also available from our extensive warehouse stock.

Capability

Situated after the 69s green sponge cartridge and before the Bio Noodles biological filter media the 69c fulfils two main functions. Firstly, fine solids that may have bypassed the deliberately coarse 69s are trapped in the 69c’s polymer ‘wool’ layer. This is important for the overall clarity of the aquarium and so that the Micro porous Bio Noodles do not become blocked with solid waste. Secondly, the activated carbon granules within the 69c remove dissolved waste, decolourise and deodorise leaving the aquarium water crystal clear and odour free. The water then flows on the Biological section of the Aqua Start 340 Pro’s filter.

Expected Life Span

The Aqua One 69c has an effective working life of between four to eight weeks with six weeks being average. The lifespan of the cartridge is impacted by the quantity of waste matter, both dissolved and solid that the cartridges are asked to cope with. The 69c cannot be regenerated by rinsing and should be discarded when exhausted.

The Aqua Start 340 Pro is a current model from Aqua One and all spare parts and filter elements are usually available from our extensive warehouse stock. The 69s green sponge cartridge is the first stage in the filtration process, this is followed by the twin 69c and then the net bag of Bio Noodles. We also stock the various PL11 energy saving fluorescent tubes for this set up, complete replacement pumps, intake strainers and even hinges for the canopy.
