Each pack of Aqua One filter cartridges for the Aqua Vue 580 contains two ceramic cartridges which have a top polymer wool layer to trap fine solids and are then filled with Aqua One ceramic granules to encourage the growth of aerobic filtration bacteria. The other two included cartridges also have a top polymer wool layer but are then filled with highly activated carbon to cleanse, purify and remove odours. We suggest replacing these disposable cartridges every four to six weeks in a normally stocked aquarium or more often where a heavy fish stock or messy feeders are present.
