An original Aqua One polymer wool filter pad to suit the Aqua Zone 28 aquarium. The Polymer wool pad traps solid waste and general debris leaving water clear and sparkling. Don’t forget we also have matching packs of Aqua OneAqua Zone 28 carbon and ceramic cartridges to complete your filter media needs.
Aqua One's Aqua Zone 28 polymer filter wool pad is designed to trap solid waste, plant debris and food particles preparing the water for the Aqua Zone 28 carbon and ceramic cartridges. The fine, interwoven, polymer fibres attract even fine debris and have a good ability to not only trap but retain waste of all types. The Aqua Zone 28 polymer pad will not rinse out effectively and should be replaced every four to six weeks. If your set up has high waste levels the pads may not last as long as they do work very hard so its worth checking on the pad once per week - if water isnt passing through the pad and tends to collect on top its time to replace it, so its worth looking at our triple and six packs of Aqua one Aqua Zone 28 polymer wool pads so you always have a few on hand.

Aqua One Aqua Zone 28 Aquarium – Care and Maintenance

Offering great value and some of the latest features Aqua One’s Aqua Zone 28 has proved to be a top selling compact aquarium over the last few years. No one knows this set up better than Aqua One Parts and we stock everything you need to keep your Aqua Zone 28 running sweetly – whether you need 156c carbon cartridges, 156w polymer wool pads, or a complete new pump we can deliver to any UK address at the lowest prices in the industry. Please see our complete care guide for your Aqua One Aqua Zone 28 below:

Weekly Maintenance

Check the filter is flowing well and that the intake strainer is not clogged with dirt and debris. Clean the front glass with a decent aquarium scraper and give the LED light panel a quick wipe over to prevent algae growth. While the Aqua Zone 28 canopy is raised check that water is flowing through the filter and not just pooling up on the surface. If water doesn’t seem to be flowing well it may well be time to change the 156w polymer wool pad for a fresh new one, check that the 156c carbon and ceramic cartridges don’t need the same attention too.

Monthly Maintenance.

Check all pipework connections are firm and not leaking. We have a complete replacement pipework set if you require it. Change the 156c carbon and ceramic cartridges for fresh, new ones. Don’t attempt to rinse them out - it doesn’t work and may result in a messy filter overflow. The 156w polymer pads are quite fine and do work hard removing aquarium debris so do be prepared to change this if it looks dirty or blocked. Although it’s always a temptation to clean the Aqua Zone 28 filter and do a water change at the same time, we don’t specifically recommend this course of action. It’s far better for your set up’s bacterial population if you clean the filter one week and do water change the next. If you do prefer to change water and do a filter clean together add some Aqua One Bio Starter to the new filter media to increase the good bacteria level. Don’t forget to add some Aqua One Health Plus water conditioner to the new water to make it safe and healthy for your fish and plants.

Yearly Maintenance

If you haven’t done so already, it’s time to clean the Aqua Zone 28 pump and fit a new Aqua One 112i impeller. The Impeller does all the work – spinning at hundreds of thousands of revolutions per minute to pull water through the pump so wear is inevitable. There is no substitute for keeping a close eye on your aquarium and a little bit of maintenance often is far better than a great deal done rarely. Don’t be afraid to get in touch of you think we can help get the best results from your Aqua One set up.
